Problem Statement
In Northern Alberta, access to timely and expert clinical care are ongoing challenges. Often time, individuals must book appointments months in advance to see a community nurse and even longer for a physician. We are seeking solutions to reduce health disparity and for programs that focus on affordable and accessible preventative care and wellness.
Business Case
Over the next 5 years, the population in Northern Alberta is expected to increase by 20%. Currently, there is fragmented healthcare and often individuals in really remote areas are not seen at all. Northern Alberta Care in collaboration with the surrounding communities would like to tackle these issues and are looking to innovation as part of the solution.,
Goals
Reduce the wait times by 10% to see the appropriate specialist. Increase knowledge of healthy behavior in schools and homes. Develop a sustainable solution that reaches into the remote areas.
